Regional Firm Recognises Commitment

Clive Owen & Co LLP, a regional firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, has promoted Simon Hook to the position of director.

The appointment is a direct result of his dedication, contribution to the growth of the business and commitment to client service.

The firm, which has had offices in Durham for 14 years, has established a solid client base and built a reputation for delivering results and offering proactive advice. In moving to the Mandale Business Park at Belmont four years ago from premises at Aykley Heads in Durham, the firm recognised the value of having the right team on board to assist with further growth.

Simon, who lives in Newcastle, joined the firm in 2001 as a graduate. He qualified in 2004 and worked his way up to become audit manager in 2007. Simon has been instrumental in assisting with the development into specific sectors and he co-manages clients in the bus/coach and transport sectors.

He has played a key role in improving the efficiency of systems within the firm and has been greatly involved in supporting the partners with wider aspects of the practice. The promotion underpins that and gives Simon further scope to develop new initiatives.

He has been with the practice for 10 years, starting as a trainee and it is particularly exciting to see how a member of the team can progress.
