I trained as an auditor with KPMG, qualifying as an ACA in 1991. I left the profession to gain experience as a management accountant. After two years, I returned to the profession to gain my tax qualification and have accumulated 25 years’ experience in tax, specialising in tax for owner-managed businesses. I worked my way through the ranks to be appointed as a tax partner in 2013. I joined Clive Owen as the tax partner for the York office in November 2017.

Did you always want to be an accountant?
I wanted to be a veterinary nurse but when my older sister chose the medical profession, I changed allegiances to the accountancy professional. My father’s accountant told me to go to university and take the degree I wanted, then concentrate on becoming an accountant. I followed this excellent advice and read music, before buckling down to gain my accountancy and tax qualifications.
Hobbies and interests
My pets and family (in that order), dog-walking, classical music and skiing.
