After gaining a degree in business computing at UCLAN, I intended to have a career in IT. My father ran his own accountancy practice and offered me a chance to consider this as a career, whilst training at his firm I decided that this was the right option for me, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Qualifications- BSc (Hons) – Business Computing
I started my accountancy journey over 20 years ago and I’ve gradually moved up the ladder, starting as a Trainee-come cup of tea maker to being a Partner at Clive Owen LLP. I’ve had a variety of different roles over this period including, Associate, Manager and Partner. This has been beneficial for me as I have had to diversify my skills over the years, so I am now able to give more to my team and my clients. During that time I have dealt mainly with clients within the SME sector and owner-managed businesses. Using my experience, I can offer a high-quality, compliant service to clients, with a real focus on adding value to a business.
Professional Memberships- Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales)
Growing a brand-new accountancy practice and making it into a profitable firm with a good reputation in the local area. Did you always want to be an accountant? After completing work experience at the family accountancy firm as a teenager, I always said I would never become an accountant! I quickly realised, however, that accountancy was right for me. I am glad I made that decision as it has enabled me to work with so many fantastic clients and make lots of connections over the years.
Hobbies and interestsI enjoy watching football and coaching my son’s junior team in my spare team. I regularly attend the local gym and I try to run when my knees allow it.
