Audit Partner
As an Audit Partner, I advise owner-managed businesses, large corporates and international groups, delivering high-quality audit and accounting services with a strong commercial focus.
I work closely with management teams to navigate complex accounting, financial reporting and regulatory requirements. My approach is pragmatic and straightforward, aiming to make complex issues easier to understand, providing clear advice and ensuring the audit process delivers useful insight as well as assurance.
My experience spans manufacturing, engineering, construction, technology and retail, giving me a broad understanding of the financial, commercial and regulatory challenges facing businesses across different sectors.
I regularly advise clients on complex accounting and audit matters, including:
- Accounting and financial reporting issues arising from acquisitions, disposals and other strategic transactions.
- Preparing for and responding to changes in accounting standards and governance requirements.
- Working collaboratively with management teams and other advisers to resolve complex financial reporting matters.
- Leading the audits of some of the region’s largest owner-managed businesses, including Lanchester Group and Cleveland Cable Company, as well as UK subsidiaries of overseas-listed groups.
Alongside my client work, I chair the firm’s Audit Committee, serve as Ethics Partner and lead our audit methodology. These roles focus on maintaining consistently high standards of audit quality, governance and professional integrity across the firm.
I joined the firm in 2021 after training with a national practice and progressed to Partner within four years. I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
