Audit Senior Manager

I am an Audit Senior Manager based in our Darlington office, with extensive audit and assurance experience gained in both the UK and India.

I work closely with clients and their finance teams throughout the audit process, taking a collaborative approach. I enjoy getting to know an organisation, understanding the challenges it faces and making complex audit and accounting matters clear and straightforward.

My experience spans charities and not-for-profit organisations, housing associations and public sector bodies, alongside privately owned businesses and larger corporates. I lead and manage both external audit and assurance assignments, from planning through to completion, working with organisations of varying sizes and complexity.

This typically includes financial reporting and technical accounting matters, internal controls and governance. I focus on understanding the issues that matter to an organisation and working with management and finance teams to resolve them efficiently.

My sector specialisms cover:

  • Charities and not-for-profit organisations
  • Registered Social Landlords (RSLs)
  • Public sector organisations

Alongside external audit and assurance, I support organisations with financial reporting, technical accounting matters, accounting standards, internal controls and governance.

Before moving to the UK, I built significant audit and assurance experience in India, progressing to partner in practice. I worked with a diverse portfolio of organisations, including large corporate and public sector entities across telecommunications, energy, oil, agriculture and banking.

I joined Clive Owen in 2026, having previously held audit management roles with accountancy firms in Scotland. My portfolio included large corporates and not-for-profit organisations, including charities, housing associations and credit unions.

Working across different sectors and regulatory environments has given me a broad perspective on audit, financial reporting, governance and the challenges faced by management and finance teams.

I am a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). I also hold an MBA in International Business and Strategy from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelor of Commerce from Christ Church College, India.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Whether a charity requires an audit or independent examination depends on factors including its income, assets, legal structure and governing document.

For financial years ending on or after 30 September 2026, charities in England and Wales are generally required to have a statutory audit where gross income exceeds £1.5 million, or where gross income exceeds £500,000 and gross assets exceed £5 million. Different requirements can apply depending on the charity’s circumstances, governing document or funding arrangements.

With both the audit thresholds and Charities SORP changing in 2026, it is important that trustees understand which requirements apply to their organisation and prepare accordingly.
