Joint Managing Partner | Accounts, Audit & Business Advisory Partner

I am Joint Managing Partner at Clive Owen, advising owner-managed and family businesses on accounts, audit and wider commercial matters across our Newcastle, Durham and York offices.

I have spent my entire career with the firm, building long-standing relationships with clients while progressing through the business. Today, I bring that experience together, by advising business owners across the region while also helping to lead and run the firm I have helped to grow.

My expertise spans accounts, audit, tax planning and wider business advice. I work closely with clients to understand what is happening behind the numbers, helping them make informed financial and commercial decisions as their businesses develop. Having experienced the opportunities and challenges that come with running and growing a business myself, I can bring a practical perspective to conversations that often extend beyond traditional accountancy.

I have particular experience in the transport and haulage sector, where businesses often need to make significant investments in vehicles and equipment. I help clients consider the financial and tax implications of these investments, including relevant capital allowances and tax reliefs, as part of their wider business and investment planning.

My experience includes:

  • Advising businesses at different stages of their development, from start-ups through to companies that have gone on to float on the stock market.
  • Building long-term relationships with owner-managed and family businesses, in many cases working alongside clients for decades as their businesses have grown and changed.
  • Combining more than 20 years of client advisory experience with first-hand responsibility for the financial, operational and people decisions involved in leading Clive Owen.

I enjoy working with owner-managed and family businesses, building relationships that often last for many years. Getting to know the business and the people behind it means I can support owners through growth, change and the complex decisions that come along the way. I see myself as part of the wider team, a sounding board as well as an accountant, offering practical advice on everything from investment and growth to planning for the future.

I joined Clive Owen at the age of 21 and progressed from trainee to qualified accountant, manager, Partner and Finance Partner before becoming Joint Managing Partner in 2025.

I have a BA (Hons) and am a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
