Leah Ramsey
Assistant Manager
Career History
I joined PwC straight out of college in their audit department back in 2016. Not long after I moved to Tait Walker (now Azets) and then on to RMT where I spent more time homing-in on audit knowledge and working towards ACA. I came to Clive Owen in July 2022 as an audit senior and after finally completing ACA was promoted to assistant manager within the audit department.

Experience and expertise
Throughout my career I have developed experience across a diverse portfolio of clients and audit assignments. This has included work on grants, charities, academies, PIEs and independent examinations, although my primary focus has been auditing owner-managed businesses and corporate entities across a range of sectors with significant experience in construction and manufacturing.

Career highlights
A key career highlight for me was completing my ACA qualification, having worked towards it throughout my time in audit. Qualifying was a great achievement and the result of several years of hard work alongside my day-to-day role. Since joining Clive Owen, I have also progressed from Audit Senior to Assistant Manager, which has been another important milestone in my career and has given me the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and continue developing my technical and leadership skills.
Did you always want to be an accountant?
I used to think I wanted to be a math teacher but as my education developed, I realised I didn’t enjoy geometry. This led me to look for other number-based careers when I was around 15, and the rest was history.
Hobbies and interests
Outside of work, I enjoy continuing to expand my knowledge of audit and keeping up to date with developments in the profession, including in my own time. I’m also a keen football supporter and enjoy following my local team, Newcastle United, and supporting them whenever I can.
