Experience and Expertise: 

I originally qualified in audit before taking a role in industry for 18 months, then moved back into practice in a managed services department supporting SMEs and start up businesses across a number of sectors.  After taking some time out to raise a family, I now manage Clive Owen’s COMS department where we prepare management accounts, cashflow forecasts, VAT returns, and perform day to day bookkeeping using a variety of software including Sage, Xero, Quickbooks Online, Dext, Spotlight and Floatapp.

Career Highlight: 

I prepared some forecasts at short notice for a client who needed to secure £350k of funding within the week.  The client was successful and now has the funding in place ready for investment in new equipment to support their new contracts coming on board in the new year. Similarly, during lockdown we supported a number of clients with forecasts in order to obtain funding over and above the government loans.

During my time in industry I was lucky enough to spend 5 weeks in the USA learning and implementing the business’ new accounting system.

Hobbies and Interests: 

When I am not being taxi service for my daughter’s hockey or netball, I am a keen swimmer and am currently trying to get as fit and as fast as I was before my children were born.  Some of you in the Middlesbrough office may have seen me staggering across the room after a particularly tough morning training session.  I am also a qualified J2 swimming official, so have the odd weekend walking round the poolside rather than being in the water.

I enjoy sewing as well so it is my new years resolution to get my sewing machine out more and perhaps finish some projects that have been lying around for a couple of years or more.
