HMRC closing the helpline – can we help?

Date posted: 26th Jun 2023

It was announced recently that HMRC are closing their self assessment helpline for taxpayers for three months from 12 June 2023.

This is to help HMRC resources and allow them to focus on PAYE and tax credit matters. For those with self assessment obligations, there will be the option of a webchat.

However, with HMRC resources already stretched and call waiting times extreme, this is likely to add further frustration for the unrepresented taxpayer.

As ever, we are here to help you with your self assessment obligations. Whilst we are not a free service, like HMRC, we have a number of tax professionals across the offices who would be happy to help you with the filing of your tax return, dealing with PAYE code queries and so forth.

If you would benefit from using our services, please give us a call.
