Clive Owen LLP honoured at House of Lords for transforming young careers through apprenticeships

Date posted: 4th Jun 2026

Clive Owen LLP has been recognised, at the heart of the UK’s parliamentary estate, for its ongoing commitment to developing future talent after being named as one of just two organisations to receive an award at this year’s 5% Club Summer Reception at the House of Lords.

The leading accountancy and business advisory firm was presented with the inaugural Youth Futures Award, recognising its leadership and measurable impact in supporting apprenticeships and creating meaningful career opportunities for young people.

The award was accepted on behalf of the firm by Ula White, Head of People and Culture at Clive Owen LLP.

This achievement builds on Clive Owen LLP’s status as a Platinum Member of The 5% Club, the highest level of accreditation awarded to employers who are leading the way in workplace learning and development. It recognises not only the firm’s investment in structured training pathways, but the culture that sits behind it – one that values potential, nurtures ambition, and creates opportunity; together with a sustained commitment to high-quality training and earn-and-learn career pathways.

At Clive Owen LLP, talent development is a cornerstone of the firm’s long-term strategy. A strategy that is brought to life every day. From school leavers taking their first steps into the world of work, to graduates embarking on their professional journeys, the firm has created a range of routes into the profession across audit, accounting and tax. These pathways are supported by nationally recognised qualifications, including ACA, ACCA, AAT, CTA and ATT; but at their core, they are about people, not just programmes.

Importantly, that ethos extends far beyond traditional accountancy roles. Colleagues across marketing, human resources, IT and administration are equally encouraged to grow, develop and shape their own careers, reflecting a belief that opportunity should be open to everyone.

Ula White said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised through the Youth Futures Award and it was an honour to attend the House of Lords. Supporting young people to build rewarding and successful careers is something we are deeply passionate about as a firm.

“At Clive Owen LLP, we believe talent comes from many different backgrounds and pathways. Whether someone joins us as an apprentice, graduate or experienced professional, we are committed to providing the support, training and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of colleagues across the firm who invest significant time and energy in mentoring, coaching and developing the next generation.”

Phillipa Symington, Partner and People and Culture Lead at Clive Owen LLP, added: “Receiving this award at the House of Lords is a very proud moment for us as a firm. It represents years of commitment to doing things the right way, investing in people, creating opportunity and supporting long-term development.

“We know that talent doesn’t follow a single path, and we have worked hard to build a culture where different routes into the profession are not only recognised, but celebrated.

“As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop, progress and succeed. To see that recognised in this way means a great deal.”
