Clive Owen LLP has spread plenty of festive cheer supporting the Angel Trust with its Christmas Toy Appeal, amid a record year of fundraising across the firm.
The leading independent firm of accountants and business advisers, which has offices in Darlington, York, Durham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle, has offered its support to Angel Trust for the second consecutive year.
Colleagues from across Clive Owen LLP donated toys, hygiene products and gifts in support of the charity. Amazingly, the appeal is set to deliver 15,000 toys to less fortunate children across the North East this Christmas.
Angel Trust is an award-winning charity based in Bishop Auckland which offers a diverse range of support services for County Durham and Darlington residents. The Charity has diversified its offerings over the years, incorporating a Foodbank, Community Pantry and 7-day a week drop-in sessions as part of its service range. Clients can access qualified support on issues including housing, debt, employment and mental wellbeing. The Charity also runs the only licensed Safe Night Hub in the North, offering emergency temporary accommodation for those who have had a mental health crisis, are homeless following hospital discharge or are fleeing domestic abuse.
In addition to its support of Angel Trust through the toy appeal and as a corporate partner, Clive Owen LLP has enjoyed a record year of fundraising. Since April, the firm has raised more than £16,000 for a variety of charities and causes through several colleague-led initiatives. These included a company-wide charity challenge, a walk in the Lake District, participation in the Great North Run and other long-distance races, and various sponsorship activities throughout the year.
Corporate social responsibility and charitable fundraising form a core part of Clive Owen LLP’s responsible business strategy. This commitment is reinforced by the firm’s accreditation with the Good Business Charter, which recognises organisations meeting 10 key standards covering employee conditions, environmental impact, equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as the positive treatment of clients and suppliers.
Carl Wright, Partner and Sustainability Lead at Clive Owen LLP, said: “We are proud to continue supporting Angel Trust and are thrilled to see the positive impact it has on young people across the region. It is an amazing charity that does so much for the communities it serves, and the success of this year’s toy appeal is testament to the dedication of its staff and volunteers.
“It has been particularly pleasing to witness such continued enthusiasm across our offices, with staff not only contributing to the toy appeal but also raising an impressive total for various causes throughout the year, reflecting their collective generosity and charitable spirit.”
Elliot Pole, Head of Marketing at Angel Trust, said: “We are beyond grateful for these donations from the Clive Owen team. Like us, the firm has a real focus on its community, employing local people, and sharing like-minded values of togetherness and unity. These Toys will be given out to thousands of local children in hospitals, schools and social care setting, we really couldn’t do it without the long-term support of businesses like Clive Owen LLP.”
