A national building services engineering consultancy firm with offices across the North East is set for continued growth and expansion following its successful sale.
TGA has been acquired by GSBC, which is backed by entrepreneurial private equity firm Ansor, in a deal that will build on its continued success, spanning more than four decades.
Established in 1962, TGA provides a range of building services engineering consultancy services across a diverse range of sectors throughout the UK, including healthcare, education, leisure, commercial property, historic buildings, museums and galleries, retail accommodation, laboratories and industrial developments.
Operating across offices in Newcastle, Stockton, Leeds, London and Stevenage, the firm employs approximately 40 staff.
TGA has delivered many high-profile projects across the UK, including the Royal Victoria Infirmary Urgent Treatment Centre, Newcastle, The Light in Durham, Salford Cathedral, Callerton School and Durham Investigative Hub.
GSBC is building a growing platform of specialist consultancies that combine technical excellence with a shared commitment to delivering more sustainable, high-performance buildings. Backed by Ansor, the group supports its businesses with investment and strategic support while enabling them to retain their individual brands, leadership and client relationships.
Under terms of the transaction, all TGA staff will be retained including its existing leadership team of four partners continuing in their roles, ensuring a smooth transition.
Michael Cantwell, Corporate Finance Partner at Clive Owen LLP, provided lead advisory services to TGA, preparing the company for sale, successfully negotiating the terms and conducting the due diligence.
Daniel Flounders and Samantha Higgins, of Jacksons. supported the transaction with the legalities of the deal on behalf of TGA.
